Lately I feel like I’ve been walking around in a fog-doing things on autopilot without giving anything my 100%. Zack and I have been really busy with work and life, and the start of my New Jersey Marathon taper is driving me up a wall.

Running and hitting my weekly mileage has felt more like a chore than fun. We have resorted one too many nights to whole wheat spaghetti, sauce, veggies, and salad for dinner when we’ve been tired. Work is about to get crazy with a big project I am about to start.

The Boston Marathon bombing has shaken me up and made me realize that life is too short to not appreciate every moment. We all owe it to those who were hurt or killed to take nothing for granted, to come off autopilot.

So today I am hitting the reset button. I am going to slow down, take it all in, and be thankful for what I have. I am going to try hard to be more mindful in everything I do. My posts over the next few days will share different ways that I am trying to be more mindful.
