Yesterday I wrote about GPS running watches, so today I’m throwing y’all a curveball and writing about something shiny and fancy and non-running related.
I’m not very girly. Shocker, I know. Nine times out of ten, I wear sweats and a ponytail when I’m at home or running errands. When I need to actually look presentable, I turn to my fashion committee—Zack, my sister, my coworkers, and my bestie from grad school. For real. I stand in front of the mirror in various clothing and shoe combinations until they give me the thumbs up.
So when Watchco, an online watch company reached out to me to review a watch on my blog, I got super excited. Me? Spotlighting as a fashion blogger for a day? Hell yes! *tosses hair*

I chose the Citizen Eco-Drive Sport Chronograph Stainless as my new toy. I don’t have any gold watches (actually, my only watch is a hand-me-down from my sister), it’s the perfect color for fall and winter, and I got two gold Alex & Ani bracelets for my birthday that look great when worn with the watch. Pinterest tells me that that’s called stacking.
I love this watch because I can dress it up or down, depending on the occasion. I’ve worn it with nice dresses and with sweatshirts, and it always looks good. I really like the white face, too. It’s classy without being over the top. I’m not really the mother-of-pearl type.
So I’m really liking my new toy—as strictly a fashion piece. Because here’s a not-so-secret secret about me—I can’t tell time well. Like, I sit and slowly count, “5, 10, 15, 20…” when reading an analog watch. And the hour hand? Forget about it. I couldn’t tell you whether my watch is set correctly or not. Way too many hands. But honestly, who needs time anyway? It’s overrated. And stressful. And my iPhone works just fine. All I care about is that my watch is pretty. And shiny. And I get complimented almost every day on it. #fashionwin
